DeSoto Parish Busted Mugshot Records
A booking photo is an identification image made after an arrest or while a person is in agency custody. In DeSoto Parish, the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office operates the Detention Center and publishes the main online roster. Mansfield Police, the Sheriff's Office, and other agencies may make the arrest, but the jail creates the parish booking entry when it accepts the person. Louisiana law treats the booking book and summary as open records, subject to lawful limits. The photo is only one field in that larger record.
The sequence matters. An officer records an arrest or citation. A jail intake, called booking, records identity details, property, time, allegations, and related facts. DPSO may then place selected fields and a photo on its roster. That public view is useful, but it is not the entire file and it is not a court ruling. The DeSoto Parish Detention Center is designed for about 120 people, and DPSO says most are awaiting trial. People shown there must be presumed innocent unless a court proves guilt.
Fields in DeSoto Booking Records
Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure Article 228 sets the floor for what a booking book must contain. DPSO's public interface goes further. It adds physical description, agency, charge, bond, and image fields. Expect gaps, though. Some entries come back blank, abbreviated, or filled with a placeholder. A listed bond amount is a stated condition, not proof that anyone actually walked free. The agency label tells you who made the arrest and nothing more. It does not name the prosecutor or reveal how the case ended in court.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Legal name and inmate ID | The identity entered for this DPSO booking. The inmate ID is not a court docket or state DOC number. |
| Booking date and time | When jail intake was recorded, which can differ from the arrest time. |
| Arresting agency and city/state | Agency and location text from the feed, not always the arrest site or current address. |
| Charge description | The charge as booked. Later filings may change or dismiss it. |
| Bond amount required | The feed's amount or N/A value, not confirmation of release. |
| Physical description | Age, gender, race, height, weight, eye color, and hair color as entered. |
| Booking photograph | One identification image when the official feed supplies it. |
Article 228 also requires the person's address and property, a short account of the events behind the arrest, and the names of anyone else arrested in the same incident. Those statutory fields often stay off the web card. When you need them, request the full booking record or summary directly. Citations, indictments, arraignments, minutes, and dispositions live elsewhere. For those, use the Clerk's criminal division.
Request DeSoto Booking Photos
A blank roster result does not end the search. DPSO offers a public-records page and form for booking books, summaries, offense reports, dispatch records, and photographs. Keep the request narrow. Give the name, the date range, the agency, and a booking or incident number if you have one. State the exact item you want. Ask whether an older record exists, was transferred, or falls under a stated exception. The agency will not invent a report that was never written.
- Download both forms from the DPSO public-records page.
- Type or print the requested details, complete the age certification, then date and sign the form.
- Email it to publicrecords@dpso.org or mail it to the Custodian of Records at 205 Franklin Street, Mansfield, LA 71052.
- Do not send money with the first request. Wait for the itemized estimate.
- Pay an approved estimate by check or money order, then arrange pickup or mailing.
Under the DPSO fee schedule effective May 1, 2026, an offense report costs $10 and photographs cost $25. Calls-for-service and dispatch records run $5. Certified documents run $5 each, and other pages cost $1 apiece. Longer supplements and recordings carry separate prices, so confirm the schedule before sending money. One more wrinkle exists. If more than ten working days pass after a cost notice goes unpaid, DPSO says you must file a new request. That deadline is not a promise the work finishes in ten days.

Louisiana Busted Mugshot Law
Article 228 opens the booking book and booking summary to public inspection. Louisiana R.S. 44:3 keeps limits on protected law-enforcement material while still naming booking records, summons or citation records, and bills of information as public. Access is not unlimited, though. Juvenile matters, sealed files, medical details, and protected investigative or security information can stay out of view.
Article 234 defines what counts as a booking photograph and creates a no-fee removal route after certain favorable legal outcomes. Start with the official disposition. The DeSoto Clerk supplies the court record. Louisiana State Police publishes expungement information, and the state courts post uniform forms. An expungement generally pulls qualifying material from public access, yet it does not destroy every underlying government record.
When an official page changes, contact each unofficial publisher with the exact page address and a copy of the court order or disposition. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, and Mugshots.com each describe free review or record-maintenance processes. Their choices have no effect on DPSO or ClerkNet. Steer clear of anyone promising a guaranteed paid fix. Never pay just because a copied image surfaces in a search engine. Once the source updates, Google's outdated-content refresh and Bing's removal tools can address stale results.
Find DeSoto Parish Busted Mugshots
The smart search order follows the record from booking to court. Each source answers a different question. So a blank result should push you to the next official channel rather than toward a quick conclusion.
- Open the official DPSO Inmate Roster. Search the name and compare booking date, agency, city, inmate ID, charge, bond, and image fields.
- Check the official DeSoto LA VINE roster for current local custody. It is a custody cross-check and may not show a photo.
- Use the official DPSO app on iOS or Android for Jail Info, agency alerts, and the current-inmate route.
- Read the DeSoto Parish Journal's dated weekly report when the question concerns a past seven-day or multi-day window.
- Search ClerkNet for the later court case, docket events, and disposition.
- Send DPSO a focused records request for an older booking or missing photo.
Not every case leaves a jail trail. A citation or summons can show up in a weekly report without any detention-center booking. A quick release may vanish from a current-custody view too. State, federal, and immigration locators only matter after a transfer or custody change points beyond the parish jail.
Where DeSoto Busted Photos Appear
Put official sources first. They name their agency and their custody role. News reports and commercial indexes can help you pin down a date. Still, they carry no authority on current custody or how a case finally ended.
| Channel | Photo? | Status and use |
|---|---|---|
| DPSO roster and app | When supplied | Official parish booking and current or recent custody view. |
| DeSoto LA VINE | Not promised | Official current-custody cross-check, listed as updating every 30 minutes. |
| DPSO records request | By request if public and retained | Official fallback for a missing or older booking photograph. |
| DeSoto Parish Journal | Varies | Local weekly or multi-day reporting, not a live jail list. |
| Busted Newspaper | Often | Unofficial DeSoto section observed stale in August 2026. |
| RecentlyBooked | Often | Unofficial claimed 30-day page with an older update marker. |
| Mugshots.com | Historical | Unofficial archive-style local index, not current custody. |
| Arrests.org | No local result observed | Unofficial search page with no DeSoto entries at capture time. |

Busted and Booked in DeSoto
Most booking photos in the parish trace back to one place: the DPSO roster. It sorts the newest bookings first and lets you search. Each display gets a date stamp, and the images stay visible. Each entry can pack in a lot of detail. Booking date and time, physical description, inmate ID, bond amount, and the arresting agency all appear, along with the city, state, and charge descriptions. One photo comes with the record when one exists. DPSO's rules don't promise a photo for every booking, though. Some entries run text-only.
| Search or check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Full or partial name | Find plausible matches without assuming the first result is the right person. |
| Booking date | Separates similar names and shows intake timing. |
| Inmate ID | Identifies the DPSO roster record for a request. |
| Arresting agency | Distinguishes DPSO, Mansfield Police, and outside agencies. |
| Charge and bond | Shows charges and the posted condition, not guilt or release. |
| Image and display date | Shows whether the feed supplied a photo and when the interface was viewed. |
How long does an entry stay up? DPSO never says. Once a person is released, the listing may linger or vanish without warning. That makes the roster a live, recently synced view rather than a permanent archive, and two local news stories explain the difference. The Journal reported in July 2026 that the website and app had stopped syncing for several days. A year and a half earlier, in January 2025, the agency had announced the return of public booking photos across both platforms. Outages happen. That reality is why LA VINE and a formal records request still matter as backups.
Recent DeSoto Busted Bookings
Want a same-day check? No official DPSO page promises a 24-hour or 48-hour arrest feed. So the live roster, the app, and DeSoto LA VINE are your best options. All three track custody, which means gaps are possible. Someone cited and released, transferred, or simply not yet synced can slip through. Treat a missing name as unresolved, not proof the arrest never happened.
For a longer window, the DeSoto Parish Journal does the heavy lifting. Its recurring report usually spans seven days. The dates sit right in the title. Some editions have stretched to two weeks, and publication paused during a 2023 system upgrade before picking back up. Expect a mix of sources inside each report. DPSO, Mansfield Police, and Louisiana State Police entries sit side by side. Some summons cases involve people who were never booked at the Detention Center at all.
What if the roster looks stale? Check the displayed date against LA VINE first, then scan the official DPSO news feed for an outage notice. Still no agreement between the systems? Ask the records custodian directly for the booking record and the current or historical photograph.
DeSoto Booking App Alerts
The DeSoto Sheriff App goes well beyond repeating roster cards. Its Jail Info section handles current inmates, charges, visitation, and commissary details. Other features push public-safety alerts, social posts, tips, events, scam notices, an offender-watch map, and Most Wanted messages. Apple and Google each carry the official version. Grab it through the official iOS listing or the matching Google Play page. One caution applies. A push notice may not stay searchable as a permanent web page, so note the issuing agency and the date when an alert arrives. Think of the app as a communication and custody-navigation tool, not a lasting archive. Never install it just to copy someone's picture.
DeSoto State Custody Records
State custody works differently from parish jail. The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections points the public to LA VINE for anyone assigned to state custody or supervision, and that locator searches by name, location, or ID and case number with updates described as arriving every 24 hours. It even reaches some people on probation or parole. The parish roster, by contrast, tracks only local jail custody and booking.
Don't expect a photo from the state side. The public locator promises none, and DPS&C describes a narrow photograph-request service reserved for a registered victim of a sentenced person, subject to agency conditions, which is far from a public mugshot archive. The state public-information office also warns that imprisoned-person files are confidential except for limited statutory information. For a DeSoto booking photo, stick with DPSO. Turn to the state locator only after a person has entered state custody or supervision.
DeSoto Booking Status Compared
One person can pass through several record systems in a single case. Matching your search to the current stage keeps an old mugshot from being read as present jail status.
| Stage | Best source | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Just booked or held locally | DPSO roster and app, then local LA VINE | Guilt, final charges, or future release |
| Cited or covered in a date window | Weekly report and agency release | That the person entered jail |
| Released from parish custody | DPSO records request and ClerkNet | That the case ended |
| Case filed in court | DeSoto Clerk criminal index | Current custody unless separately checked |
| Sentenced or supervised by the state | DPS&C LA VINE locator | A same-day parish booking photo |
| Federal or immigration custody | BOP or ICE locator when facts support it | A DeSoto court disposition |

- Jail intake after arrest.
- Arraignment
- The court appearance where a charge and plea are addressed.
- Bond

DeSoto Records After Booking
The roster's story ends at booking and custody. After that, the DeSoto Parish Clerk's criminal division takes over. It holds citations, indictments, arraignments, docket minutes, and final dispositions. ClerkNet hosts the official online criminal index and images for its stated range starting in 2015. Search by name first. Then compare the case number, filing date, charge text, and docket events against the DPSO booking date to confirm the right match.
Read the docket in order, too. Later filings can amend what booking stated. The minutes may show a plea, dismissal, diversion, or sentence. Juvenile matters and anything sealed by the 42nd Judicial District Court stay out of the public set entirely. So an absent record could mean a sealed case, a spelling mismatch, or simply a filing outside the online date range.
Busted Mugshots Across DeSoto Cities
Each of the parish's three largest incorporated places handles local records its own way. DPSO remains the booking source shared by all of them. In Mansfield, the city police department maintains an official Weekly Arrest Reports page, though its current render showed no dependable attachment or posting schedule. Stonewall took a different route. A 2017 ordinance abolished the town police department and the chief's office, so the Sheriff's Office and the town records custodian are now the right starting points. Logansport lists a DPSO substation and Town Hall contacts rather than any booking feed of its own.
- Mansfield Busted Mugshots: municipal police records, the city report route, and parish booking checks.
- Stonewall Busted Mugshots: sheriff coverage, town public records, and DPSO custody sources.
- Logansport Busted Mugshots: the sheriff substation, town contacts, and parish-centered bookings.
Labels matter more than you might think. The place where an incident happened, the agency that made the arrest, and the jail where the person was booked can all be different, and a Mansfield arrest can even end in custody in another parish. Check every label before deciding which custodian holds the report or the photo.
